How do I pray? How do I worship? If you have ever wanted to pray and worship like Jesus did, then look no further than the Psalms. Psalms was Jesus’ prayer book and his “go to” for worship of His Father. There are 150 chapters to the book of Psalms, but at its heart the book of Psalms is much more. In the Psalms, we find the author expressing every emotion and experience of life: joy, happiness, hope, and confidence in God. We will also see open-hearted sadness, discouragement, confusion, envy, vulnerability, and shame. It is all in this one book. Over the past year, we have immersed ourselves in books of the Bible like Revelation and Genesis. Our hope is that you now feel a now found confidence in exploring those books on your own. This will be our journey over the summer as we spend the Summer in the Psalms. We will drink deeply from God’s word as refreshment for our soul. We will hear from others in their journey who have experienced the peaks and valleys of life. And most importantly, we will do it together. There is no substitute for reading God’s word in community, as the Holy Spirit moves in powerful ways. We can expect to see miracles, life transformation, and a sure confidence in the God of history.
