Additional Questions:

In verse 17, it states that, "Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy". Ponder that the religious leaders were jealous of "common" people and then "They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail." In this instance we see that their emotions overtook their desire to please God. This is something that any of us can easily fall into.

Ask the Lord to show you ways you can pause when your emotions are overtaking you. How can you give those feelings to Him?

Meditate on this Scripture from 2 Timothy 3:5,7: "They may pretend to have a respect for God, but in reality they want nothing to do with God’s power. Stay away from people like these! They are always learning but never discover the revelation-knowledge of truth." This Scripture speaks about people like the religious leaders. As you meditate on Scripture, ask God to show you any way that He desires to speak to you through this text.
