An Extraordinary Story: Through the Eyes of Luke
Week Four
Preaching Text: Luke 6:12-19 (NIV)
Additional Reading: Luke 6:20-49 (NIV)
Additional Questions:
According to the passage, before Jesus selected his disciples, he spent the night praying. What does that show us about Jesus’ relationship with the Father while he was living amongst us?
Verse 13 says, “he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles”. Why do you think he selected 12 out of a larger group of disciples to be “Apostles”? (An Apostle is sent to deliver teachings. A Disciple is still being taught).
In verse 19, we see that the power of God is flowing out of Jesus. Imagine yourself in that scene as someone who needs healing. How would your perspective of God be different? How would you see yourself differently if you were healed?
